GNU Street Series BTX - 2011

/images/brands/gnu/logo/gnu_logo.gif

A high-spec jib board equally at home burning-up groomers as doing laps of the terrain park. This board has been designed for those riders who session small hills for most of the year but need a board with balls to rip-up the bigger hills and backcountry during the occasional holiday. If you fit this description then the GNU Street Series could be the board for you. In fairness the Street Series isn’t the urban shred-stick that its name hints at; if you’re looking for a noodle to press down kinked rails then you may want to consider looking else-where…..or getting sponsored!

Manufacturer's Description:

Street Bananas! Skate focused urban jib Banana with Magnetraction. Mid Wide twin freestyle shapes. Banana tech jibs like no other. Higher ollies, deeper presses, in and out of kinky situations. If the only face shots you get happen sweeping the ledge this is your board. This board also kills the powder and anything else you might encounter if you happen to score a lift ticket. What colour is powder?

how would you compare the flex on this board to the never summer sl?

Rich Ewbank on August 03, 2011 at 04:20 PM

Hi Mark, having ridden both I wouldn’t even compare them. The Street Series is a lot, lot, lot softer than the NS SL, for one it’s completely rockered and has no camber in the tips like the SL. Completely different boards for very different rider and terrain styles. Rich

so you’d say the street series is more of a jib board n the ns sl is more big mountain/back country?

Rich Ewbank on August 05, 2011 at 04:51 PM

Yeah exactly the Street Series is the park and jib deck, the Sl the big kicker and freeride board… it’d also be enough board for some backcountry missions for sure, it floats very nicely and is damp enough to blast through some sketchy snow. Rich
