Nidecker Legacy - 2011

/images/brands/nidecker/logo/nidecker_logo.gif

Last year the Nidecker Legacy looked like a bit of a Mark Frank Montoya graphic rip-off; well, you will be pleased to hear there’s nothing suspect with the graphic this year, it is much better and so is the profile design. Last year our head of testing Tom felt that the camber section of the Camrock profile was too shallow for a freeride board. Nidecker must have been listening because they have made some clever little changes for the 2011 release. Firstly they’ve doubled the camber depth between the bindings, meaning control will definitely move to the rider’s feet instead of pivoting at the centre of the board like it did last year. Secondly, Nidecker have increased the rocker at the nose and reduced the degree of rocker in the tail, meaning there’s more float and a bit more tail for slashing powder banks and popping off cliffs. We can’t wait to test the Legacy this year!

This board can do anything!.. I spent the day cruising, hitting jumps, trees some off piste powdery sections and jibbing. Landed every trick and ripped through every feature. The board is very responsive. I have the 158 and it turns like a much shorter board which makes it great for tight spots like glades. It held an edge fine on icy spots. The board is awesome in the park, in powder and trees. For high speed groomers it is stable but not too fast. My new favorite board!!
