I have the 06/2007 cambered version of this. I’m riding a 158x26 with a pair of 2011 union force bindings. This board absolutely destroys the mountain. It’s the absolute most stable ride of any board I’ve ever been on. While the flex rating says a 4, it feels like a big mountain 6 flexing board. I’m 5’8” and wear size 10 shoes. I rie with a near zeroº offset. At first I thought this board would be too much to handle, but that’s not the case. Yes it’s a big board for me and yes it takes a lot to move it around. That being said, I wouldn’t trade its girth for anything. I’ve never been faster on a board in my life. I have been riding so fast that the trees turned into a blur… I’m guessing about 70mph.
I bought this board brand new this year, as it was still in plastic. I emailed Venture to see about warranty coverage (if anything stupid happens). Sure enough, they said that the board has a FULL warranty for 2 years after the date of purchase. This is a company who legitimately stands behind their boards and believes in making quality products. If you have any doubt about Venture, quit thinking and just go for it! I’m so stoked at riding a Venture board that I bought one of their reclaimed wood signs and hung it above my fireplace.

Ok, so here’s my story of the 2010 Helix Rocker 152. It all started during a conversation on Facebook with my old high school bud, who I’ve known since the early 90’s of riding. My friend informed me of the wicked reputation, feel and confidence Venture boards have. He’s been doing some big mountain riding. He told me about how Venture is made in USA and how each board is made with the utmost quality and attendtion to detail. Upon doing more research, it appears alot of large snowboard companies have taken production of shore to a mass production facility in Asia, just so these big companies can retire sooner. To make a long story short, I was very impressed with Venture’s initial outlook and philosophy towards making snowboards with passion and earth friendly. In the end, Venture has made a bullet proof board, with passion, hands on R&D in their backyard of Silverton Mtn, and their expertise. I love the down-to-earth, no frills design. Most boards now seem to just be a trendy “Hey, look at me” board. Not so with Venture - these boards are built with purpose, passion and emotion. Now, in terms of the ride- I’m 5’4”, 160lbs, experienced rider. In search of the old board I used to ride from the USA or Europe, majority of them are made in China where quality control is absent and boards are designed with a short life span. After riding a Made in China board from a medium sized company it was time to move on - hence Venture snowboards. After my first ride down my 2010 Helix 152 rocker, I noticed immediatley the stable, quiet and controlled ride. I was able to fly down at insane speeds I couldn’t do ever before on previous board brands like Burton, K2 (x2), Sims, Luxury, and M3. Whatever it is they put in this, it just feels so organically natural over bumps, chops, humps, kicker, ice, powder and more! I’ve ridden it only twice so far and it just screams, “Come on, is that all you got?” It taunts me everytime I push it hard. Whether bombing Ontario’s largest mountain in 30 seconds, or hitting the next back country kicker - it is the epitomy of All mountain technology. My Helix is probably one of the softest boards I’ve ever owned - but its not a noodle, IT CONFORMS to the mountain surface! Its soft enough to damper choppy granular, yet snappy enough when you need it. I don;t think I’ve ever had a board tell me who’s boss before. So far, based on its ride qualities, it fits the BIG mountain specification big time. I can’t wait to venture into a significantly larger and challenging conditions (no pun intended). It carves beautifully, transitions edge-to-edge quick, landings are solid yet forgiving, flex feels non-constricted, controlled, predictable and natural, no vibrations while speeding and not affected by choppy snow - steers and floats straight! Thank you Venture for investing so much of your dedication, experience to snowboarding, R&D, putting fun back into snowboarding again for me. For all those out there looking for a new board - look no further. Venture boards will put a big smile on your face, and feed your snowboard addiction! Go buy one now!! Why settle for a board that just “looks good” and because everyone has one? Get a unique, hand made in USA, snowboard company!!!
