Nitro Pantera - 2011

/images/brands/nitro/logo/nitro_logo.gif

Like an 80s heavy metal band the Nitro Pantera gets better with age. You’re after float in powder? The directional tapered shape will provide plenty of float and the sintered base will have you gliding over any sticky flat spots. Want edge hold for laying down supersonic carves? Triaxial glass and a progressive sidecut should keep your edge in the snow and the board stable no matter what conditions you find the Pantera plowing through. Need pop? Camber and Basalt tip-to-tail reinforcement will kick you out of carves and fire you head height off rollers.

Manufacturer's Description:

The Pantera is the base of our high performance all mountain line. It’s been designed to handle speed in the heaviest of conditions. The Reflex Powerlite core is matched with a directional, tapered shape. The longer nose and narrower tail makes it faster to float when ripping pow and easier to initiate turns when charging groomers, transforming the whole mountain into your personal playground with style and power. The Pantera is available in both mid-wide and wide.

Running the Nitro Pantera Wide 169 with Burton Malavita bindings and Burton Ruler boots. I love this board - all the hype is true about it being a top all round freeride board - great superfast carves if I set my bindings at +45 and +30 or for powder/off-piste/forrest fun when set to +15 and -15 (I have size 15 boots, 199cm tall and weigh 118 kg in full gear). Slices through rough afternoon snow like it was a groomed trail…
