Weekend Heikki Pro - 2011

When Heikki Sorsa isn’t grooming his Mohawk for big international snowboard competitions or flying 10m out of the top of a quaterpipe he likes nothing more than a good board game. Rumour has it that Weekend was only able to get Heikki on the team on the condition that they built him a snowboard that combined his love of Snowboarding and Board games, Heikki’s Pro Series was born. The rest of the board is of the usual Weekend quality. Built in Austria, Heikki’s pro model is based on last year’s lodge series; with a tip to tail wood core, triaxial fibreglass laminates, Kevlar reinforcement, a Structurn sintered base and a traditional Cambered profile. The Heikki pro is the perfect board for a snowboarder that wants a performance park / all mountain twin… with a penchant for Monopoly.

Manufacturer's Description:

Just like Heikki Sorsa, this board can ride and handle most anything. Heikki liked last season’s Lodge Series so much that he wanted it to be his pro-model for this season, so we didn’t change a thing. Well, that’s not true, we changed the graphics.

Each size of Heikki’s series is a fully playable board game. That’s right, take the bindings off (or don’t put any on), rustle up friends, a couple of dice and some random objects for you to play with and get started on heck of a good time. We thought it would be interesting to make each game unique from the other, so we enlisted the help of 3 separate artists and let them go to town. The 153 was done by illustrating veteran Steve Nazar of 80’s T&C artist fame. The 155 was done by the main man on campus and experienced snowboard graphic illustrator Sean Barnhart. Lastly but not leastly, the 157 was painted/illustrated by the one and only Dustin “Send it” Ortiz. He’s an all-around nice guy. That’s what he’s famous for.

Thank you one thousand fold fellas. Heikki Likes! Here at Weekend we like to think of snowboards as coveted, not commodities. This series is limited to 150 of each size. These boards are built and hand-numbered deep in the mountains of Austria. Real deep.
