In today’s safety conscious, litigation frenzied society it isn’t uncommon for a car manufacturer to issue a statement recalling a range of vehicles due to a manufacture or design fault. It is however fairly uncommon for snowboard products to be recalled by a manufacturer, which is exactly what Rome have done.

Due to 14 separate incidents of broken base plates, caused by the plastics’ reaction to cold weather (I think the designer may have missed a trick there!) Rome are recalling more then 3,000 pairs of the United binding from consumers in the US and Canada that bought their bindings between September and December of last year.
So, if you have a pair of United bindings and you bought them between the aforementioned dates Rome advise that you stop using them immediately and contact Rome for a free replacement set.
It’s nice to see Rome putting customers before profit, we reckon it will cost a pretty penny to replace 3000 pairs of bindings.

Well yeah.. how the hell should they have known ppl are actually taking these things out to low temperature places?! Haha.
Anyway, you’re right: They better go for some cash less than for some seriously bad reputation. You can’t buy that back!
