Just in case you’ve been stranded on a desert island or been hiding under a rock for the past six months, Eiki and Halldor Helgason two of the most annoyingly talented and charismatic individuals in snowboarding recently launched a snowboard brand called Lobster. The lads are launching their new range of boards which feature Bataleon’s Triple Base Technology on their new website this coming week on August 16th at 9:00pm CET (that’s Central European time didn’t you know). The exciting part is that along with launch of the site Lobster will be releasing some “Secret Graphics” boards. You can read all about it in the press release below:

THE COUNTDOWN TO LOBSTER SNOWBOARDS’ SECRET BOARD GRAPHICS HAS STARTED
Akureyri, Iceland 11/08/2011The Helgasons put the finishing touches on lobstersnowboards.com and set a launch date.
The wait is almost over… The second-by-second countdown to the launch of Lobster’s new website has commenced at www.lobstersnowboards.com. Lobster’s digital doors will open at exactly 6.00pm CET / 9.am PDT on the 16th August 2011.
The web launch co-insides with the unveiling of the secret graphics for the ‘Troublemaker Park Board’ and the ‘STD Jib board’. Both will hit the shelves in our online store and be available in selected snowboard shops across the globe.
Eiki and Halldor have worked together with Dutch graphic artist Michiel Walrave to design the secret graphic boards and the illustrations for the new website. Head over to www.lobstersnowboards.com now and you can get a taste for what to expect whilst the countdown at the holding page continues.
The new website will also host the Lobster online store where all Logo and Secret graphics boards will be sold alongside your favorite Lobster apparel.

Having seen the graphics, particularly the Teeth-esque STD inspired one, I really wonder who they are appealing to?
I can’t imagine any parents wanting to buy one for their Little Johnny, and I don’t see many 20s+ buying one because it’s so ridiculously stupid.
Or maybe that’s just me.

Hey Robert, great to have your opinion but no need to use personal insults, that’s why I’ve deleted your post. I think it’s cool that Eiki and Halldor are brining out Lobster but I agree with Milly that they’re narrowing their appeal to older teens by creating the STD graphic, it looks gash, pun intended. It reminds me of the Stepchild PMS graphic which was actually more subtle, even though it wasn’t subtle what so ever.

Rich, I actually liked the PMS graphic, but not sure why. Maybe because it was actually a decent piece of artwork, the true meaning of which only hit you when you realised that the Chi guy was riding a tampon down a red river!
As for any personal insults, I didn’t see them, but hey, Halldor is a rider with so much style, and out of all the video parts he has done, nothing beats him and Torstein Horgmo playing In Yo Face. Halldor had style for days and Torstein isn’t lacking in that department!
