Grenade Apparel and Glove Preview for 2009/10

SB-R bumped into Nick Atkins from Grenade UK at Slide in Manchester last month. Nick was super excited about showing us some of Grenades offerings for 2009/10. Yeah…yeah…I know, we’re a snowboard review site, and strictly speaking apparel and gloves do not classify as snowboards. Tough, I run this joint and I like Grenades new gear, so will you…

Grenade Sahra Jacket

Grenade’s vivid designs have really divided snowboard fashionistas over the last 6 years… myself included. I remember purchasing my first set of Grenade gloves back in 2003, and if I’m honest with you… they were rubbish, like having a big set of comedy sponges strapped to each hand. Needless to say, they didn’t last long in the extreme environment that is Plymouth Dryslope.. but man did they look good! Even with my finger tips sticking through the ends.

Mr Kass and the crew have bucked their ideas up over the last couple of years. Now you can have stylish, warm and dry hands! Whilst Grenade have retained their military styling, they’ve also gone hell for leather for the punk/metal look… so hot right now. Standouts for us included the Sahra Jacket (pictured above) made of a hard wearing 10,000/10,000 fabric, the womens jacket pictured directly below of which I can’t remember the name for the life of me (it also has some cool matching mitts) and the entire pipe glove range which has a style for everyone, whether rude boy french rasta or East Coast Punk. So check out Grenades line this year, it’s radical.
