Rome’s new ‘SK’ series; just for shop-kids and resort workers! You heard me right; Rome have pre-released the 2011 Artifact 1985 with a limited edition graphic that will be produced in small quantities and sold exclusively to kids working in shops and on local hills. Only 100 SK (Shop Kid) boards will be produced and will be available in the States only through Rome’s Operative Programme.

Rome SK Artifact 1985

Mountains might be in short supply in England, but art is one thing that our little Island can do. Snowboard Review received an invite to the FBBB Board Art Showcase at the Reebok Lounge in Shoreditch London, to check out some of the pieces they’d commissioned to help raise money for their charity Snow-Camp which takes disadvantaged kids out to the mountains. We’d never turn down an invite to drink free beer so we donned our spray-on jeans and cycled our fixed gear bikes down to Shoreditch’s trendiest venue.

It’s fair to say that FBBB (For Boarders by Boarders) have been at the forefront of the British Snowboard scene for the last couple of years; their highly original blend of the UK’s Snowboarding, Skate, Music and Art cultures have bought something fresh to the UK scene. It’s no secret that the UK imports the majority of its Snowboarding brands from the States and Europe so it’s consequently very difficult for UK artists to contribute to the industry/sub-culture that they love. FBBB has given the aforementioned UK and European artists an outlet and allowed them to get their work recognised on a world stage. Recent showcases have included the London Ski & Snowboard Show and the London Freeze, in which they sat in the rain for the majority of the time.
