Prior Swallowtail Split - 2016

Manufacturer's Description:

Board comes with tip/tail clips and Chinese hooks. All other splitboard hardware is available on our accessories page.

!!The tailclip of the G3 splitboard skins do not work for this splitboard. You will need to order the separate twin G3 tailclips.

Prior’s Swallowtail Split is the king of big mountain directional powder boards. The behaviour and performance of this board is the result of years of research and development and can be attributed to the nose shape/profile that allows for effortless floatation. The swallowtail breaks down resistance and allows for a more natural stance without the dreaded back leg burn. In a class of its own, it has set the standard by which all big mountain powder boards strive to attain. With limited taper and a long effective edge, the Swallowtail Split is surprising edge to edge and efficient in variable snow conditions; the tails also flex independently to increase mobility and provide a smooth transition to finish the turn.

XTC Carbon Construction is available as an upgrade to all Prior splitboards and saves an average of 500 grams (1lb 1oz) off a Prior splitboard pressed with our standard quadraxial fiberglass.

Profile: Nose rocker provides floatation and predictability in powder of all kinds. It also allows the board to initiate sooner. Traditional camber in the tail provides additional power driving off the back foot.

Rider Type: Self propelled backcountry adventurers and powder hounds that ride directionally and want the added benefits of the swallowtail design.

Best For: Soft open bowl and gladed powder of all descriptions. Also rides well in hardpack, crud and variable snowpack.

Recommended for freeride riding.

Recommended for big mountain riding.
