Amplid Dopamine - 2013

/images/brands/amplid/logo/amplid_logo.gif

A SB-RV favourite last year, the Dopamine returns with a fresh scalp-less chicken graphic. Soft and buttery, but still capable of a blast around the mountain the Amplid Dopamine is a safe bet for riders wanting to give rocker a try without blowing the budget and ending-up on a soggy noodle.

Manufacturer's Description:

Our dope is everywhere

If your local snowboard dealer is pushing the Dopamine on you, be warned, this sh*t is seriously addictive. Constructed with our Jib Rocker profile and a park dialled flex pattern the Dopamine will give you the smoothest hits and greasiest butters. Amplid’s super durable WDT Polywood core (= just one of our contributions to keep the forest green or white), impact glass and extruded base make the Dopamine our toughest shred to date.

2013 Amplid Dopamine Video Snowboard Review

This is Amlid’s park and rail specialist with Amplid’s Jib Rocker camber line, which means it’s flat between the feet with a rockered nose and tail. It’s seriously flexible which makes it super fun to jib around on and hit those rails, but leaves it lacking in resistance when landing heavily on the nose and tail off kickers and small hits. If you like lapping the park and riding rails, or even as an indoor machine, then this is the one for you. If you’re more into charging groomers and switch BS 10’s off 20-meter tables then think again before taking this home with you as you’ll find yourself sitting down on landings more than you’d like to admit! The highlights for me were its playfulness jibbing and bonking down the mountain, great if you’re out for a good time with your buddies, the ease of access on to the rails and boxes in the park and the effortless presses with more steeze than Slick Rick and Snoop Dog combined. I did however struggle with its lack of pop and response that comes as a by-product of its forgiving nature.

Highlights:
Forgiving feel
Easy presses and butters

Letdowns:
Too soft for all-mountain riding
