Burton Custom X - 2014

The Burton Custom X is a top of the line, performance focused snowboard with a sterling reputation. It is a very aggressive directional snowboard designed to be ridden at warp speed with great control. This board is equipped with regular camber and a narrow waist to give the board a very responsive and aggresive feel. Add the 45 degree Carbon Highlights Hi-Voltage and that ferocious pop and edgehold will last throughout the life of the board. The use of Carbon also reduces the need for other materials and increased core thickness, helping to minimise overall weight. The Custom X has incredible edge hold and demands a confident and experienced rider; once unleashed on the snow it’s ready to rip trenches into hardpack and fire meter’s above superpipe coping. Beginners and Intermediates keep this board on your wishlist until you have the skills.

Manufacturer's Description:

As aggressive as it gets for pros or those looking to get the competitive edge.
The Custom X equals pro-caliber performance and precision, as demanded by the likes of John Jackson and Peetu Piiroinen. The confidence is in the tech, which includes a snappy yet stable Squeezebox-powered core, competition-grade base, and 45° Carbon Highlights Hi-Voltage—our high-response fiberglass formula that’s been further refined in 2014 to be even lighter and sleeker. The hardest charging board we make, the X is the only choice in camber for riders who own podiums and stack serious footage.

What colour is powder?

I got this board just over a year ago. 164 with burton cartel bindings.  I am a hard charger over 60 mph every day I ride.  This board can do it all and feels great.  That being said I am very disappointed in the the ability of the board to hold up over time.  Mine in less than a year is falling apart.  The top sheet started to get a longitude crack in the center of the tip. This rapidly started other cracks.  Now the top sheet is separating from the base. I expected better quality for the price of the board. I would NOT buy again.
