Endeavor Board Of Directors Series - 2013

Last year’s highly acclaimed redesign of the Endeavor Board Of Directors Series has worked its all-mountain freestyle magic once again, but this year on a completely new tester. When you look at the B.O.D it kind of feels like Endeavor has taken all of the highlights of other snowboards in their 12/13 line, thrown them together and hoped that it would work. Well they have and it works! Zero camber for float; a twin shape for freestyle versatility; DowTech for a looser feel; flat kicks with an extra-long effective edge for grip; basalt and carbon for pop; a sintered 7500 base for speed; Endeavor’s Phantom Core to reduce weight and the list goes on. It’s little surprise that the Board Of Directors is the office favourite.

Manufacturer's Description:

The flagship of the Endeavor Line for 10 years straight. The B.O.D. stands for the Board Of Directors; this board is the pride and joy of the people behind the scenes at Endeavor. The B.O.D. has changed identities over the years, first as an aggressive freestyle board, then as a directional all mountain board and now as a zero camber, tech laden twin, but one thing remains the same, it still stands as the pinnacle of performance and design.

Zero Camber w/ DowTech & Flat Kicked Nose and Tail: The best of both worlds. With no pressure on the contact points due to the raised wings, this board feels loose and catch-free like a reverse camber board; however it remains more stable and predictable like a regular camber board. Because of the quick radius to flat on the nose and tail, the effective edge runs further than a traditional snowboard. This means the rider can drop 2cm in length and still have the same control.

Rubber Sidewall Inlays: Designed to take impact from rails or other objects, the rubber sidewall inlay works as a bumper to prevent sidewall cracks and also works to dampen vibrations on hard snow under foot where high-frequency vibrations can cause leg fatigue.

Phantom Core: The Phantom Woodcore boasts a 15% reduction in weight compared to the Standard Wood core making the deck lighter and more responsive under foot.

After a week of use, I’m happy with the BOD.. The board does what it says it does..which is pretty much anything!  It’s a jack-of-all-trades setup which let’s you control it rather than lending itself to a particular style.

The “Dow tech” really works…Its really not easy to catch an edge. If you do start to lose it, the board just wants to straighten itself up, so it’s very forgiving and that gives you a lot more confidence.

7/10 softness means it’s on the soft side..but it remains stable at speed and doesn’t mind bumpy snow at all. Transitions are fairly effortless. Grip through turns is fine, but can’t quite match a cambered profile board on carving prowess. It’s fairly close in profile to the Ride Machete, but i found the Machete more playful & looser, whereas the BOD is more stable and slightly firmer.

The quality of the Endeavour board is obvious. I have no worries about it being made in china..it looks and feels more solid than other top brand boards I’ve owned.

By the way I’m 6’1” 180lb, size US12 feet and ride the 161cm.  Its not a wide board so if you have size 13 feet, definitely try it out in person.  My stance is +9, -9 and is borderline for width.
