Nidecker Blade - 2012

Unique to the Blade is Nidecker’s Pop Camrock. Designed to maximise pop from ollies without sacrificing Camrock’s loose feel, Pop Camrock features a small flat section fore of the front binding and aft of the rear binding as well as a slightly deeper camber between the feet and less rocker in the tips. On top of its unique profile this park focused twin tip has a 6000 grade sintered base, carbon reinforced triaxial glass and Ultimate Traction edges for added grip.

Manufacturer's Description:

With an all new shape and construction for 2011 the Blade has moved the goal posts in freestyle snowboard design. Its CamRock shape combined with the state of the art construction gives a looser skate like feel without compromising pop and power making this the perfect board for any rider looking for the ultimate in freestyle performance. From Kicker lines in the park to urban jibbing the Blade handles it all. So, step up to the plate, throw away those old lifeless reverse camber boards and welcome the future of freestyle snowboarding.

Hi Guys,

I tested the NDK Blade 2012 on slopes in French Alps yesterday. Before this board I used to have Nitro Addict. Well, this thing really cuts curves better than Addict and it seems the name “Blade” hasn’t been given merely to give the swanky name to the board with Kurt’s face on it and all. I mean it’s really damn sharp on a slope as a straight double-edged razor! I don’t know how Nidecker has done it (with UT or any other technology), but for me it looks like as improved board in comparison with Addict, although the last one is more forgiving with its gullwing profile. You just feels you want more and more while riding it, but here one disappointing thing waits for you - the slider is not so fast you want it. Even it’s 6000 bla-bla- bla something super sliding surface as per specification, you’ve just started feeling that it ought to be more speedy because it’s so damn good in curves.  It’s also light and easy to rotate as well as for canting it. Anyhow, I’m pleased with it.
