Nike 6.0 Releases First Outerwear Range

Only a couple of days ago Nike sent us a press release with their 2010/11 range of Outerwear under the 6.0 umbrella. Nike’s new gear looks fresh and with their immense influence over chain retailers, particularly in the US, it looks like they are going to clean up. Check out the range:

2011 Nike 6.0 Snowboard Outerwear

Like it or not, global sporting uber brand Nike are in Snowboarding and are here to stay. Sure other global sporting conglomerates have dabbled in snowboarding; Adidas recently joined teams with Burton to create some pretty smart snowboarding rags and let’s not forget Adidas’ involvement with Bonfire during its ten year ownership of the Salomon Group. However, Nike’s involvement in the sport is completely different, for one, their products are vividly branded with Nike 6.0 and secondly, Nike appear to have signed the team of all teams to assist them on their road to world-wide domination, with half of Burton’s big hitter joining the Nike revolution (Peetu Piiroinen, Mikkel Bang, Mason Aguirre and Kevin Pierce have all jumped ship on the outerwear front).

Enough, fire and brimstone; Nike’s gear looks really nice and the quality is bound to be second to none, we particularly like the Proost and Kampai jackets. Just don’t expect to be the only person on the mountain wearing this gear.

Our baby is getting fatter!  When the money is hot the big wigs come in for a toke! :)

Saw Peetu at Snowpark in NZ representing Nike and although I hate to say it the 6.0 gear looked really nice. He was rocking the Kampai jacket in that green camo/splattered paint colour-way.

Maybe it’s because I’m a Euro, but I like Adidas and Burton’s collaborations more, it’s just got more of an uncompromising Adidas style.

Still Nike stuff it tight, no denying that.
