Movie Premiere - Absinthe Films Now/here

Snowboard-Review.com got wind that Reloaded (also known as Steve in the real world) was planning to head down to the Calgary premier of Absinthe’s latest blockbuster Now/here. We asked Reloaded to jot down a brief blog of his evening, so those not fortunate to be in spitting distance of a tour stop could share the experience… namely us. Damn our stranded little island!

Romain De Marchi, Justin Hostynek and Ryan from Royal Boardshop Calgary enjoy the Limelight

The Absinthe Movie NowHere was playing in Calgary on October 7.  It was put on by Royal Board Shop and had the YES guys Romain and DCP in town along with Justin (Absinthe co-owner/editor) and Jake Blauvelt.  It was an awesome film and an awesome time.  Definitely a big mountain focus in the film, and no T. Rice this year (damnit!).  My favourite part has to go to Bode Merrill, he attacked all his shots…  and the now famous Salomon Team Shoot-Out shot of the rodeo 270 onto a rail made it into the flick too.

Romain before the film had the idea to give away the ultra limited edition Absinthe YES board by a cleaver contest…  the first chick to remove her bra and throw it up on the stage gets the board.  I was surprised I saw no boobies, damn stealthy chicks in the theatre.  In all the mayhem my girlfriend dropped the camera and her cellphone trying to whip off her bra, it was a sight.  I got hit in the face with socks that were tossed by the guys into the crowd, admission paid for…  booyah!

We dropped in to the Redbull after party and unfortunately couldn’t stay that long but it was jumping in the joint.

Good times for sure, thanks to Royal, YES and Absinthe for putting the show on.
