There are plenty of old favourites and new editions alike in the 2011 Burton Snowboards line-up. From the flying-V version of the ever faithful Custom to the ‘so now’ release of the reggae styled limited edition Damien Marley Whammy Bar and the all new retro shaped soul surfing powder shredder the Steller.
There nothing like the Burton stand at Ispo. For one, it’s enormous, dwarfing the next biggest including the likes of the Ride and K2 setups. Secondly it’s right at the centre of the snowboarding hall and the main focal point of the show. And thirdly, it doesn’t half make the boards look good. Enough about the stand, I’m sure you just want to know about next years boards.. well Burton are notoriously good at keeping their boards under wraps until the start of the season. As a result, I can only talk you through the range from a broad perspective; what decks are looking tight, which 2010 boards are missing from the 2011 range and then leave you to browse through some pics of the highlights.

1) T7. 2) Love. 3) Custom X. 4) T7. 5) Vapor. 6) Vapor. 7) Vapor. 8) Whammy Bar ltd edition Damien Marley. 9) Custom Flying-V. 10) Jeremy Jones. 11) Steller. 12) Ltd edition Road Soda 13) Ltd edition Storyteller
Well, noticeable by their absence are the Dominant and Seven, two staples for the last 10 years of Burton history. Then there’s the T6 which is dead and buried and replaced with the new T7.. logical but a perhaps not the most inventive rename. Burton’s big sellers the Custom and Custom X make a reappearance with some inoffensive graphics and the flying V profile, and the controversial Love series retains it’s place in the starting lineup with some saucy WW2 bomber girls adorning the topsheet. For this years Vapor, Burton have teamed up with their favourite fashion ally, Paul Smith to produce what is set to be a big seller even with the pretty hefty price tag. Then there’s Burton’s latest freeride addition, in the form of the Steller, manufactured in the Burton Vermont factory, this little beauty has an old school swallow tail shape with a long nose and a slick gloss Vaporskin topsheet; looking at the spec you can expect to remortgage you house to pay for this little puppy. Jeremy Jones has changed his image more times than David Bowie, the latest incarnation of his pro stick has gone all Easyrider, ever get the feeling Jeremy wishes he was Danny Kass? Of course you can expect to see last years roll away success the Joystick back on the roster, but it’s the limited edition releases which are going to be the big hitters in 2011. The Story Tale is set to absolutely destroy the competition with it’s Manga style graphics, then there’s the Road Soda featuring everyone’s favourite stoners Cheech and Chong not to mention the limited edition Damien Marley Whammy Bar; if you’ve got Dub and reggae filling your cans this season, this board is your dream. There’s no denying that Burton’s 2011 graphics are looking hot, as soon as we find out more about what they’re packing under the hood we’ll be sure to post the details.
