APO front man Regis Rolland has secured his company’s financial future just in the nick of time.

It’s no secret that owner of APO snowboards and French snowboarding legend Regis Rolland has had a bit of a tough time of it recently. The instant evaporation of available credit from the banking industry that arrived hand-in-hand with the recession caught out more than just APO, infact Burton’s huge streamlining and redundancy operations didn’t go unnoticed and whatever happened to Canadian super brand Option?. Fortunately Regis and Co. managed to weather the storm and have found some investors from Switzerland who are prepared to support the brand going forward. After the shenanigans with Rossignol that saw the demise of Regis’s previous brand A Snowboards back in 2003, you can be sure that Regis has made a savvy business decision and that the investors that Regis has brought into the APO family are the right people for the job. We’re just stocked that APO will be rolling out their 2011 board range; the BC Powder Rocker is sensational!
Below is the press release:-
After a couple of months of rumours, APO Snow is pleased to announce that the French brand has been acquired by a Swiss company.
As its founder, Regis Rolland, stated:
“After a difficult year of recovery proceedings, I am really proud to have found investors to continue the APOcalypse story”.
Regis founded Apocalypse in 1985, A-snowboards in 1993 and APO in 2003. The APO team will still be part of the new company and we will step-up our efforts in this new era thanks to stronger financial support.
More information will follow early next fall.
The APO team.

Glad they found a new investor, would have been too bad if they had just disappeared.
And what about Option? Did they actually ‘give up’?

THey manufactured a load of boards last season and released the catalogue, but the boards never really hit the market and the brand just kind of disolved into nothing. I heard the intention was for them to hit the market running this year but as of yet I’ve seen no evidense to suggest they’ll ever make boards again. Shame… I think it was BC’s last snowboard factory.
