Endeavor Board of Directors - 2012

Completely redesigned for the 2011/12 season the new Endeavor Board of Directors is a lively, medium/soft true twin freestyle stick with more tricks up its sleeve than David Copperfield.

Manufacturer's Description:

The theory behind the all new Board of directors is to have the best of both camber and reverse camber in one board. Keep the high performance pop and responsiveness of a cambered deck but also have the forgiveness of a reverse camber to make the ultimate ride. We’ve done this by making it zero camber and raising the contact points with our new WING technology. Combine that with a tip to tail carbon stringer and a carbon V in the tail, flat kicknose and tail, and a nice sidecut and you have the next level in freestyle snowboards.

2012 Endeavor Board of Directors Video Snowboard Review

If in previous years you’ve ridden the Endeavor BOD and you really liked it I advise that you don’t go out and buy the new Endeavor BOD without trying it, because this years’ model is a very different board.  It just so happens that this season Max, Rob and Scott, Endeavor’s company directors, decided that they didn’t want to ride a hard-charging Freeride/Freestyle board anymore; they wanted something a little more fun.

Have they been successful? Well I’m not going to mince my words; the Endeavor BOD was undoubtedly my favourite board of the 2012 Snowboard Test. It’s no wonder that seasoned Pro’s like Kale Stephens are shouting from the rooftops about Endeavor’s top-of-the-range deck.

The first thing that I noticed about the BOD was that it was incredibly light thanks to the Poplar Lite Core and Basalt glass weave which has replaced normal fibreglass. Basalt is not only much lighter but has a more reactive, poppy characteristic and when combined with Carbon Stringers gives the BOD’s zero camber profile a real energy at low and high speeds; you don’t have to load this board to feel its massive pop.

To compliment the torsional reactivity of this board Endeavor have added Wing Technology to the nose and tail, a mellow lifting of the contact points where the kicks join the sidecut. This makes the board very stable and less skittish at high speeds and means that kicker approaches and take-offs are a breeze thanks to a fluid carving action.  This isn’t to say that the BOD doesn’t carve, because it does, and it was even a lot fun in Kaunertal’s Spring Superpipe.

If you’re looking for 2012’s best freestyle snowboard then this should definitely be on your shortlist. It’s a very easy board to ride but that doesn’t mean it can’t hit the big jumps in the park and perform in the backcountry. Endeavor has done a great job with this board and Rory Doyle’s graphics aren’t too bad either…..good work Endeavor!

Highlights:
Super lively flex for a zero camber snowboard
Very easy to ride
Size down a couple of centimeters because of the long effective edge
Lighweight and snappy Basalt construction
Fast 7500 sintered base
Catch free Wings tech
