Hey guys,

So I’m pretty new to snowboarding (learnt a couple of months ago, been going practically every day since then) and I’m looking for my first board. So far i’ve just been using rentals. I’m looking to start freestyle soon, but I want something good across the mountain as well.

I’ve got a few options so far: K2 Parkstar, Ride DH, and the Atomic Hatchet (that one turns out really cheap as I’ve seen a (hardly) used one with bindings for sale. I know they’re all pretty different from each other, and I’ve done my research into shapes and all the techy stuff, but I’d rather hear advice from riders. So if anyone’s used or still uses any of these I was just looking for some advice on which to get or maybe even some new suggestions

Hey mate,
the Ride DH is a solid ride for park and piste. It’s pretty versatile which is not bad if you want to do it all but at the same time it means it won’t be perfect for a certain type of riding.

The K2 Parkstar is a really strong park board! There’s no bump or rail you can’t slay with it but it won’t be as stable at high speeds as a board with a firmer flex.

The Atomic Hatchet is a good allrounder as well. Does the Hatchet you had a look at already have the Pop Rocker profile?
If you are on a budget you should probably look no further and just go with the Hatchet as it really is a great board for what you are looking for.
Just as a quick sidenote: this season’s Hatchet features one of the hottest board designs this year! It looks just absolutely amazing!

Feel free to ask any more questions.
Cheers Tobi
