Hey there!

So i was wondering which board i should get this season, cause my current one lasted 3 years. I’ve been riding a GNU carbon high beam 2009.

I’ve been doing some research and my picks fell on:

DC PBJ (Neff) 2011
Lib Tech Skate banana 2011
Never Summer Evo 2011
DC Tone 2011
- or any other suggestions?

Ive been boarding since 2009 and love riding the pow, jibbing and hanging in the park.
I can get the DC PBJ for a fair price, does anyone have ridden it? Can you compare it with a skate banana?

Thanks alot guys!
Hope you can help me.

I need to rock the coming season :D
Cheers!

To get a little more specific where will you be riding most as a percentage out of 100.  example, 50% freeride, 40% park and 10% pow/backcountry.

Hello!

Thanks for the tip :)

Freeride 50%
Park     45%
Pow     5% (only with guides)

I’m still learning in the park tho, so i need a board where i can progress.
I mean i can land a 360 (back and front) easily but thats pretty much it so far.
In the park, i love the boxes and rails more than kickers.
I prefer buttering over carving while on the slopes.
You can put me between intermediate and advanced.

The reasons for my selections

DC PBJ Neff:
Just the graphics.. haah no j/k. Honestly its the price i can get it for. 250 euros is what im paying for this board and it had some good reviews. But still the graphics are sick

Lib Tech Skate Banana:
Man all those stories about this board, they all get me stoked. There was only one downside, the steel edge is like all mervin boards not wrapping the entire board. This one should be stable and responsive while cruising at some higher speed. I can get this board for 330 euro.

Never Summer Evo
I kinda dropped this one, its way too expensive for me despite all the good reviews. Altho the specs of this is what i like. Same goes for the skate banana.

DC Tone
According to your stats it should fit my riding style. This one also comes around 250 euros.

Open to your suggestions for other boards.

My current preference goes to the Skate banana.

Unfortunately where i come from there are no mountains, only place i can ride in summer is the indoor slopes. In winter i hit the french alps.

This thursday ive got access to a sample sale for bataleon boards. Heard they got the kink, goliath and evil twin for sale at very low prices. Is it worht to take a look at those boards?

Greetings from the netherlands,

I’m just progressing in the park so take my advice lightly… :)

You’re pretty much split down the middle but I’m glad you put that you like to butter versus carving on freeriding so that puts you definitely on a park board.

The Skate Banana without a doubt is the flagship park board of Lib-Tech.  I hope to ride one myself this year to finally feel the hype.  It’s a softer board in the Lib lineup but it would turn the entire mountain into one big playground and has magnetraction for when conditions are shitty.  I agree as well I don’t understand why Mervin doesn’t continue the steel edge around the tips but honestly it shouldn’t be that much of an issue.

A few seasons ago I was looking at the DC PBJ model as well, it looks to have a flatter mid profile then the Skate Banana.  I ride a K2 Parkstar that is flat between the bindings with early rising tips and it’s great for all around the mountain, not as washy as a full rockered deck but again I haven’t been on a Lib board to see how they feel.  Honestly it looks like a solid deck and if you can get it at a great price AND you are really into the graphics I would put my money on that board.

I’m not sure where the DC Tone fits in, probably more all-mountain freestyle then the PBJ I assume.

As for Bataleon I have never been on their decks but the TBT is interesting tech.  The Helgasons brothers which are arguably the best freestyling brothers on the planet launched a new brand that has TBT tech in their boards so it does say something about it.  I would check out the Evil Twin, Riot and Goliath and again if the price is right what do you have to lose? :)

Thanks Steve!

After a few days of surfing the web, I’ve found the board I’m going to get.

At first i was looking for the skate banana, but It’s going to be the GNU ccs! The little bro of the skate banana ;)
Unfortunately i cant buy the skate banana here due to customs taxes etc ( its 5% + 19% tax over the price +shipping)
Way too expensive.

My eyes fell on the Gnu carbon credit, still looking at what size i should get. Im 170 cm and weigh around 60 kgs.
Is the 147 perfect or 150? Love your help, cheers!
