I’ve never owned a board before and this is going to be the third time on the slope in six or seven years for me and so I’m pretty much starting from scratch. I’m at school in Colorado, so that’s where I plan on shredding the most.
I’ve been looking at good deals and three boards have stuck out that I would like advice on.
Rossi Accelerator -155cm
Ride Control - 155cm
Ride Catalyst - 160cm
I’m 6’0” and 142 pounds. I would like a decent all-mountain kind of board that turns really well, but that can also go decently fast and still retain mobility. I’m not talking 60 mph, but reasonable I guess is the best way of looking at it. I’m on a pretty tight budget and idc if the board is used or what have you, as long as it rides like it’s supposed to. All the boards mentioned above I have found board, boots, and bindings for between $140 - $160.

Hey Slushy,
I’m really sorry that you had to wait so long to get a reply, it’s just that I am on a rather long trip to Australia right now so Rich and Steve are pretty much on their own and pretty busy as well, as you can guess.
Now let’s move on to your question: I’m not going to comment on any of the boards you mentioned in the first place, because I can not really advice you to buy a binding/boot/board package for around $150.
Even if your budget is really low you should have proper boots at least! Otherwise your going to pay more than 100bucks for leg cramps and footpain. You can always go to shops and ask them for their old models and try them on. You can get a real bargain that way and make sure they fit well at the same time.
You might be good with going with such a package offer you mentioned but I would really try to get a decent boot. You can still get a board/binding package then (just make sure the boot fits the binding!).
If you consider going that way, I’d be happy to have a look at some budget boards that might fit your bill.
Cheers Tobi

Thanks Tobi,
I will look into that definately!
Do you have any suggstions on boards? any at all? i can try to find bargains for any of the boards you post so don’t worry too much about cost (but don’t go too overboard haha) I will try to find some decent boots!
Thanks again!

Do you want to spend some time in the park at all?
Or will you be freeriding only with the occasional kicker but never rails and such?

I plan to just be hitting the slopes. I really don’t know about the park at all, but I won’t be doing any rails is my guess. I might try a few pops here and there but most likely not much.

Here a good place to start. It’ll help you to undersatnd what characteristics in a board will help you to progess the quickest whilst having the most fun. The boards are last seasons so you might find a deal on the net.
