I’m looking to replace my Lib Dark Series. It’s a 2009 model, with the original (pre-C2) banana profile, 163cm.
I’d consider myself an advanced/expert rider; I can get down anything and usually have the strongest technique of the people I ride with. I’m a freerider/carver at heart; I like powder, trees, steeps, launching kickers and hopping cliffs. I’m never in the park unless I’m working on something specific to take elsewhere on the mountain.
I’ve been pretty happy with my current board, though I find I have to keep my weight fairly far back to avoid have the tail wash out… I think the newer banana/rocker profiles don’t suffer from this as badly? I like the magnetraction, though I could probably live without it.
Boards I’m contemplating:
- Prior MFR
- Jones Flagship
- Nidecker Ultralight/Megalight
- Another Lib (Dark Series again, perhaps TRice?)
I hear great things about Prior; everyone I’ve met with one claims it to be the best board they’ve ever owned. The Jones and Nidecker choices come from reading this site and searching the forums to see what gets mentioned along side stuff I’m more familiar with. I’m also open to other suggestions.
