Hi

I am looking for a new park-oriented twintip board for a 178cm, 68 kg guy (think that’s like 5’10’’ and 150lbs). I’m currently riding the Gnu Danny Kass BTX 08/09 153 with the 09/10 Union Force and the 32 Lashed Boot. I have been very happy with the Danny Kass since it has a lot of pop whilst being pretty forgiving on landings. I do however think that the flex is rather on the stiff side for me.
Now what I’m looking for is a board similar to the DK, maybe a bit softer with good pop. I have already looked at the Gnu DK C2 BTX and the Park Pickle, the Bataleon Evil Twin and Airobic as well as the Never Summer Evo. As I do not have a lot of time for testing this (pre-) season i would be happy if you could help me with some advice and/ or experience with these boards.

Cheers from Switzerland!

The NS Evo topped the park shoot-out here at S-R.com last season so I know it’s got some clout.

As you are in the Mervin camp I would also look towards the Skate Banana, probably the #1 park-rat board here in Alberta…  I see a lot of Aussie lifties rocking it. :)

thanks for the advice!

Do you think I can ride the 152 banana (I usually ride 153-155)? I like my boards short, but I’m just afraid it might be unstable when charging bigger jumps…

cheers again!

Sure you can ride the Skate Banana at that length but you will find it a little unstable when hitting bigger jumps. That’s the flipside of riding a short reverse camber snowboard. If you go on the homepage there is a review of next years Sk8 Banana in he featured articles column. If stability is a buying crux then check out the Box Scratcher in the 151 which is short but a bit more solid than the SK8 Banana.
