Hey guys and girls

I’m looking at buying the Rossignol Sultan board. I’m working as a lify on a mountain in the rockies for about 4-5months. I have only snowboarded a couple of times. I was told to look for a rockered board but cannot find any that are a good price.

What i’m basically asking is would this board be good for a beginner who is spending about probably a good 15-20hours snowboarding a week for 5 months? Would this board be alright once i start to enter the intermediate stages. Also would this board be alright in powder and all other conditions i could get in the rockies?

thanks!

Hi Callum,

Put simply the Rossi Sultan is about as entry level as you can get. If you are riding 15-20hrs a week for an entire season you will very quickly out-grow a board of that callibre. It’s not that it’s a bad board, at the end of the day it’s shaped like a snowboard, looks like a snowboard and is a snowboard but there are boards that will make certain aspects of riding a little easier. What is your budget and what country are you buying in? Perhaps there are some other options that we can point you towards.

I’m in New Zealand untill October. Boards here are much more expensive.. I’m in vancouver for about 2 days. I pretty much only have those 2 days to purchase a board. I don’t want to spend too much over $350 for a board as i also need bindings and boots. I guess overall i dont want to be spending over $700-800 CAD on a package. I dont realy want to purchase online either, a walk in store in Vancouver would be ideal.

cheers
