I have been riding and loving my skate banana for 3 seasons. I’m ready for an upgrade. Cost really isn’t an issue. Can someone recommend a board that is really similar to the banana but perhaps higher end?
I would be fine just getting a new banana, and the banana magic looks interested. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah the Banana Magic would certainly be a nice upgrade… of course the Lib Tech Attack Banana is an interesting blend of the Skate Banana and Lib boards with C2BTX.
Looking at other brands, there’s the Never Summer Evo, Arbor Westmark, you might also like the Burton Easy Living and Hero. What are your stats and what would you change about your Skate Banana?

Thank you Rich. I rode a lot growing up in the 90s on crummy boards. I stopped from 1998 to 2007, and fell so much in love with the banana that I was averaging about 30/days year. What I would like to know is, is there a similar technology leap like what I found in my k2 Fat Bob from 1996 to my 2006 skate banana? I like the flexability of the banana, and it’s all mountain appeal. I am 6’2’’ and 185 lbs.
Again money is really no object because snowboarding is my favorite thing on the planet that doesn’t invlove potential paternity suits.

No there hasn’t really been a technological leap that can match a decade of snowboard design, materials and manufacturing process development that you’ve nejoyed by moving from the Fatbob to the Banana and to be honest the Fat Bob was always an absolute plank, it’s main selling point was that it was wide enough to accommodae big feet, which at the time was quite rare. The more subtle developments that you might enjoy are the incorporation of camber into reverse camber… I’mcertain you’d enjoy the increased pop of Lib Tech’s new EC2 camber which they are using on the Attack Banana. Materials wise I have no doubt you’ll enjoy the light feel and damp pop of Basalt laminates and the smooth powerful pop of snowboards with Bamboo in the core, but like I said these are quite subtle changes in comparison.
