So i’m about 5’7, 140 lbs from the midwest and i really need a new board. i’m looking at a strictly park board that can jib well and handle small/medium jumps (the biggest my hill has are about 40 feet). I have about $400-450 for the board and i have been looking at the Nitro SubZero, Salomon Drift, and Nitro Haze. Any help at all about this would be great.

Hi dhird, Rich (the big man here at sbr.com) just loves the Forum Scallywag and the Amplid Dopamine as jib boards!
In fact, he was so amazed by the Dopamine he wanted to buy one right away! So these two boards would definitely be worth having a look at.
The Salomon Drift surely isn’t bad either ranking 6th in our king of jib competition. I can’t tell you any more than it says on our review pages about the 3 boards you mentioned, though.
Cheers, Tobi

Tobi, thank you for your input. i checked out the dopamine and scallywag,, and i think i have narrowed it down to the drift and scallywag, and possibly also the rome artifact/rocker. the dopamine looks great, but i can’t seem to find it anywhere online or in my local shops. do you have any advice on which of these would be the better buy?

My shout would be for the Scallywag, the Salomon Drift Rocker’s Equalizer sidecut is a bit Marmite (You’ll love it or hate it). It works much better on softer boards but in my experience it’s still a bit less grippy than a standard radial sidecut. Plus the Scallywag has pirates on the graphics…. surely that’s a big selling point! If you’re riding on icy hills you might also want to check out the Gnu Street Series and the Arbor Draft. Also check out the Academy Propaganda another no nonsense park/jib board that’s a lot of fun to ride.
