Hi,
I’m looking for a new board that would be good for hitting rails and small to medium kickers. I ride out east so conditions are rather icy. I’ve been riding for about 6 years but just stated hitting rails and park obsticules this year. Right now I’m riding a pretty old Burton Bullet 164W and quite frankly it sucks in the park. Im interested in a light flexible board that can withstand my size and weight. Im 6’5” tall and i weigh around 180lbs. My shoe size is 13US. Im entering college so I’m on a budget of under $400 dollars. As far as brands go I’m open to anything. I’ve been looking at the forum manual 159 but wanted some more input before i made my decision.
Thank you,
David

Hi David,

Sure the Manual would make a reasonable board, it’s looks to be exavtly what you are after except that it’s 253mm at the waist which will be too small for your 13 boots. Here are some other boards you should take a look at. Most of them are reverse camber, you’ll find this more manageable on smaller jumps and jibs and a bit more progressive. The Arbor, Lib Tech and Smokin boards have wavy edges to improve grip on hard snow. The Endeavor Live RC is reverse camber but it has a triaxial glass so it’s not a push over it’s firmer than most and the Nitro T1 is zero camber so it kind of offers a compromise between the grtip, pop and control of camber and the playfulness of reverse camber. I’m sure find a deal on some of them to bring them within your price range.

Endeavor Live RC 159W

Smokin Big Wig 157mW

Lib Tech Skate Banana 159W

Nitro T1 158W

Next seasons Arbor Blacklist

Find any other boards you want to run by me, just post them. Just as a tip you should be looking for a board with a waist around the 262mm mark. A couple of mil smaller or bigger won’t matter too much.

Rich,

Thank you for your input it helped me out a lot. I did research on all of these boards and i think im going with the big wig. i love that it is capable of handling all types of terrian and who can’t resist the magna traction and rocker system. i really liked arbor’s ideals and style however and i might wait a little while to see what the blacklist has to offer. what binding set up would you recommend if i do end up going with the wig just curious. i have a farely nice set of burton cartels right now but they feel a little stiff. thanks again so much.

David
