I’m an intermediate rider that lives in the East Coast so most of the stuff I ride is packed, groomed powder, or ice…
I’m looking to replace my 8-yr old board. I’m mostly interested in becoming a faster rider, though most of my friends also like hitting jumps, so I’ll probably do some more of that next season.
I’ve been reading the advice in this website (very helpful!) and I’ve narrowed it down to the Arbor Element CX and the Rossignol One (though the Salmon Answer is still in the running).

The Rossignol One is cheaper but the Element CX seems like a better board (plus I like the look). Will there be a significant difference between the two? I’m just looking for some advice before I make my final selection.

Thanks!

Hey,

Those are two solid decks for sure…  I have an Artec board that is made in the same factory as Arbor boards (Elan in Austria) so they are definitely well built and dependable rides.

That being said I like the stats on the Rossi One MagTek for an East coast rider.  For one the One (lol) will be stiffer thanks to the kevlar and carbon in it’s core…  that translates into more speed and aggressive ride.  The profile on the One is a camber/rocker (Amptek)...  they have kept the camber between the binding and rocker out towards the tips which in my opinion is better all-around then the true reverse camber systems like the ones Arbor uses.  The One also has magnetraction edges which is know to be a top performer in ice / hard pack conditions.

If I moved back out East I would pick up a Rossi One Magtek hands down.

Thanks for getting back to me so quickly! I’ll nickname it Neo.  :)

One last question: would you recommend the 159 or 163 cm?  I’m 5’ 10”, 165 lb, size 10 boot.  Currently I ride a 161, but they don’t have that size for the Rossi One.

159 without a shadow of a doubt.

Unfortunately my girlfriend bought me the 163” by mistake…
Will I be able to tell much of a difference from the 159”?
