Newbie to the baord but not the sport.

Just ordered a 2011 Burton Supermodel 164.  Is this the right board for me?

ME:
6 feet
210
I’d consider myself advanced. Riding for 10 years or so, I ski/board 50/50.
East Coast rider.
Terrain is mostly on piste but natural trails and glades are where I have the most fun.
Looking for 1 board to get me through all terrain the local hill offers, from groomers to glades.  No Park for me.  Want something stable at speeds but responsive enough in the woods.

Good choice?  Alternatives? ( I can always return this)

How about bindings?  Am I crazy mounting 3 year old Burton Customs on this thing for the rest of this season (it isn’t over yet guys!) and then moving up to a better binding?  What binding fits well with this board?

Thanks in advance.

The bindings will do fine, definitely ride those until the end of the season. As far as the board goes, it might be a little on the short side in my personal opinion, but as you are based on the East Coast and dumps aren’t as frequent or large in volume as the West it’ll probably be fine. What size feet have you got? The Supermodel is quite narrow.

Size 10. I am moving up from a 161 to the 164. Like you said east coast not many big dumps, at least not consistently hopefully I will be ok with the size.
Thanks for the input.
