Hi

As an intermediate buying my first new board, who wants to progress on all mountain conditions -off piste, piste and a bit of park - I have been advised to look towards the Burton Custom Flying V or the Nitro Team Gullwing. I have read the reviews and am having trouble deciding which one to go for.

Can anyone provide advice?
Is the EST system on the Burton the difference or is it worth it?

Was looking at getting the Burton Cartels as bindings for whichever board—any advice as to whether thats a good idea very welcome!

Otherwise if anyone wants to confuse me anymore and suggest an alternative board or setup thats welcome!

Thanks for any advice given…

EST is smart but I really don’t think it offers any performance gains, it just offers more adjustment options. In my opinion it isn’t worth the cost of having to buy new bindings or restrict you binding choice to Burtons. But if you don’t already have bindings and want to buy Burton bindings then there are certainly no issues with EST. As far as the boards go, I’m afraid I’ve only ridden the Custom, it was fun but could have done with a touch more dampening and edge hold on harder snow. Things are all change on the Custom FV next season, they’re changing the core profile so it’s thinner under the feet to provide more pop and bettert edge hold.
