Folks,
Looking for a new board, think I’ve dinked my old Libtech Jamie Lynn (160) one too many times, and my blue lady is now looking dated.
Mate of mine got one of last years libtech banana boards with magna traction and he’s loving it. I’m seriously tempted, and I’ve always liked libtech - had two of them in the past. Not sure which one suits best though, and I’ll always look at alternatives.
Very much an all mountain/backcountry rider, advanced (17 years). Always ride powder when it’s there, ride piste when not - fast as possible both places. Do lots of jumps, almost always in natural terrain, hardly ever in park, never do rails or half pipe. Occasionally ride switch when with slower peeps to keep it interesting, so has to be an option.
178 cm, 78 kg (171 lbs)
Any suggestions more than welcome, budget not an issue - I’ll spend money on something good. And anything but a Burton, don’t ask me why but I’ve had a pathological hatred of Burton’s developed over years of watching people turn up with all the gear and no idea - and it’s always a Burton board!! ;)
And any binding suggestions welcome too, had some salomon for years and loved them!!
Cheers all.

Bumping and refining.
Anyone got some thoughts on any of the following for me (5’8, 170 lbs, athletic, advanced backcountry rider):
Never summer - raptor or SL size around 160
Libtech - dark series, jamie lynnn or trice? same sizes
Appreciate any input guys, big investment that I’ll be riding for the next 4/5 years :)
Shoulda mentioned I’m living in Singapore, so most of my riding these days is gonna be powder in Japan. But I got back home to europe sometimes as well and love Canada, so can vary.

A Lib Tech Phoenix, Travis Rice or NS SL around the 159 mark is going to provide you with a freeride board that’s going to work all mountain. Hitting jumps, floating in snorkel deep pow and playing around on the groomers. If you want a more serious borda for heavy lines, straight line stability and sticking hairy drops the Raptor is the boards, I’d look at the Raptor in longer lengths. I’m a little lighter and shorter than you and the 164 was spot on.
