I’m considering an addition my current board, a 2010 Rossi One Mag 156. First off, I love this board. It’s crazy fast and stable on the East Coast groomers i’m stuck with. However, it’s not so easy to jib with. The board is on the long end for my height, which makes lining up with boxes difficult to do, as sharp cuts at low speeds are a little tricky on this stick. It’s also super stiff, which is great when I’m bombing down the corduroy, but sucks when I’m trying to weave around the park or popping ollies. Buttering this board is next to impossible.
The two boards I’m considering are the 2011 Rossi One Magtek and the Lib Tech Skate Banana. Has anyone here ridden both? I should have the chance to demo the Lib Tech when I go to Tahoe in 3 weeks, but I haven’t seen the Magtek anywhere. Having bought the One Mag without testing it, my only regret is getting a 156 instead of a 153, which I think would have made a small bit of difference in maneuverability. I will be dropping down to a 152 or there abouts for the jib stick. If anyone is wondering, I’m 5’6’’ and 165lbs.
Other suggestions are welcome, but due the general mix of ice and crud that I ride on regularly, I’m only considering Magne Traction boards, of which I’m only aware of those made by GNU, Lib, Rossi, and Smokin.
Thanks!

For a jib/park board the Skate Banana is the way to go out of those two. The One Magtek has the Amptek all-mountain rocker profile but it’s still a stiff board.
Another board to check out that is slightly on the lighter side for your wallet is the GNU Carbon Credit. Keep in mind though that the reverse camber banana tech is really loose in my opinion so these decks are totally geared towards the park.

Thanks for the reply. I considered the Skate Banana before buying my One Mag. But, when i got the board for this season, I didn’t think I’d be doing much in the park. The mountains within a daytrip of my house are more like hills. The longest advanced trails within a two hour drive are only 1/2 mile long. That gets old real quick. So, I’ve started small boxes and jumps in the beginners park. If the One Magtek is more all mountain than it is jib, then it probably won’t be drastically different from the board I’ve already got. I want something significantly more jibby, and probably shorter than the 153 that Rossi offers. I had forgotten about GNU boards, but in the past, their graphics have been a little over the top for my tastes. Skate Banana graphics are relatively sane and the board is well reviewed on the interwebs. I’m sure I can demo both GNU and Lib boards when in Tahoe in 2 weeks, so I’ll try to give each one a spin. I haven’t found a place that demos the One Magtek yet. Thanks!

Yes. I would say that the 2011 One Mag is more of a all-mountain slayer. I like it in jumps as well. But for a pure park mission there are better boards out there
