I appologize if this has already been asked, but I couldn’t find what I was looking for with a few different searches on the forums. Maybe I wasn’t using the correct terminology (because I’m REALLY new)... but I did try searching before asking.

Anyway,

My girlfriend is a HUGE fan of Arbor boards, so for her birthday in May, I would like to suprise her with a board… but I wanted to put a custom graphic on the board. I have a graphic in-mind, but I’m not 100% sure if there is a way to get a board with the top(?) left blank, so that I can put the graphic on myself. My girlfriend likes the “green wood” look that Arbor uses (I think it’s the Poplar, like the Cadence… but idk for sure)

I found THIS SITE (http://www.faceliftconcepts.com/main/index.aspx), but I really don’t know anything about them, or their stuff. This company sells blank boards, but I’m not really sure I want to buy “just any board” for her. She is pretty experienced from what I know… she had a season-pass for a few years and rode 3-4 times per week for a few years… then took a few years off. She is getting back into boarding (and I’m coming along as a complete newb in the process)... so I really don’t know anything about this stuff except what I have read here, and heard from her.

Should I get the Cadence for her, and then put the custom graphic over the one that Arbor has, or should I get a blank from the site I linked, or try to get Arbor to sell me a board with no design (if that was even possible), or ?????

Next:
I have ZERO clue when it comes to any of the sizing/shape/camber/whatever… not dumb, just new :D

I have been told “the board should be between the chin and eyebrow”, but without ruining the suprise to her, I can’t really ask her what size board she rides. She is 5’2"ish, and weighs somewhere in the 110-120 range iirc, so what size would be best for her (Cadence 139, 143, 147, 151)? I have a ton more questions, but this should do for now.

Thanks

Picking a board is kind of like picking your nose,  suggestions, hints tips are always welcome but in th end you prefer to do it yourself.

you can not buy her a blank,  even buying an arbor is a risk they completely changed the line up in 2011.

lol @ picking my nose…

The link that i posted has “blank boards” for sale for something cheap (iirc it’s $199 or something)... but I have no info on their quality/shape/etc.

From what I read on this site’s review of the Cadence, it’s a good board. She is currently riding an Airwalk 150 (that’s what it says on the board, I have no clue if that’s correct), so I would think getting the Cadence 151 would be a good match… ? I have zero clue, hence the question-mark. I know that she has pointed out the look of the green-wood (at a Sport Chalet), and if I get a custom graphic, I can make adjustments as needed…

Thanks for the input

Hey Juicebox,

The Arbor Cadense 147 sounds like a great fit to your girlfriends stats and riding experience.
