Hello,
The last few years i’ve been riding a Rome Flag (160 - wide). I’ve been doing some more rails & kickers lately and I’m experiencing this board to be a bit too “bulky” (also it’s getting old).
I’m searching for a new board with a good all round experience. Boards that are on my checklist are the Bataleon Goliath 157w and the Lib Tech Skate Banana 159w.
I want it to be useable (shouldn’t be perfect but still has to be average) in the powder, kickers (not the big airs), rails/boxes and the mountain. Maybe a rocker would be nice for a change (haven’t used one yet) but it’s not necessary.
I’m 6ft / 6ft1 (186cm) of height and weigh 190lbs (87kg).
My foot size is a 45(EU), so I guess 11.5 US. Not sure whether I realy need a wide version or not.
Thanks in advance :)

Yeah you could do with a mid-wide really. Bear-in-mind that Lib Tech wides are ridiculously wide. You are dfinitely on the right track, something with rocker will loosen up the board and make it feel a lot more manouverable.

Ok, thanks :). After much reading I feel that the skate banana might be too much park-oriented. The Never Summer SL looks nice, but I can’t find any EU shops who sell it…
Will the Goliath be playful enough? It’s not a rocker but the TBT also looks fun.
Other suggestions?

Sure the Goliath is a good all mountain board, and would certainly fit what you intend to ride. Is it playful? Probably not quite as playful as some rocker options like the K2 Fastplant, K2 Parkstar, NDK advanced or even the Ride Machete, these boards would also offer you a stable freeestyle board that butters and jibs and can still handle the rest of the mountain. Goliath is still a good choice, just a touch more all-moubtain.
