After a long mental debate, I’ve decided I want one board that does everything really well. I’ve been on a Bataleon Goliath for awhile, great board, but loosens up at speed it’s an 08/09 not sure if they stiffened them up. I saw a great deal on a Bataleon Riot and am really interested in the board. I’ve also become more interested in Yes Boards, the GDOH as I found I could get on it without toe or heel drag with my set up. Now I don’t know which would be better suited for my riding. I ride everything, if it snowed a bunch I will be riding pow all over except the park;) If there’s no pow I’m carving up the groomers at high speed and lapping through the smaller jump lines and hitting some hips. Which would you say is a better board for that type of riding?
I heard the GDOH is stiffer so that may work fine, and am just worried the Riot will get loose, but maybe not?
Thanks

Hi meatball,
as far as I can see, the Riot is definitely stiffer compared to the Dudes. It has quadraxial glass instead of triaxial and it s fully cambered whereas the Dudes features a camrock profile. So I’d say for charging and going really fast go with with the Riot, if you want to have a little bit more fun on your way down the piste go with the Dudes. It will just be more playful and probably easier to control, especially on lower speeds.

Thanks Tobi,
So when you say more playful and easier to control, does that mean it will be a noddle of a board and wont hold an edge well at high speed?
I rode a flagship for a bit, loved it, just not for any type of jump or for messing around, strictly down to business board. So what I’m looking for is the stability coming close to the Jones, but the tame feel of say a Capita Quiver Killer, I had an MHT years ago and liked the flex and feel and how it was extremely predictable, if you think one of those is more a mixture of the Jones and Capita let me know;)

The Dudes definitely isn’t a noodle, I’d say it has a mid to firm flex. I rode the 156.5 YES last year which is essentially the same board as the Dudes, so if you want to read a review, check that one out. For powder and jumps it’s a dream machine. I think the Riot is going to be a touch more lively out of turns because of the full length camber but Camrock boards are super versatile.

I ended up getting the dudes, just seemed like the best board for everything. I also liked their Camrock , seems like it will be more stable than other rocker camber boards. The review above wasn’t the only good one, I heard from many shops that it’s a favorite board and usually at least one person at each shop that carries yes stuff has one for all mountain riding. Actually got an email from a shop manager in Mammoth california telling me how it’s his favorite board. I can’t wait to get on it this coming monday, as well as my new Union Force bindings, got some special ones, Eastern Boarder limited editions, less than 40 made, sick color way:) So stoked, can’t wait for the pow! Thanks again!

Yeah rad set-up, which “dude” has your board got on the topsheet?
Remember to post your thought on the board!
