Hi,

First of all: great site!!

After reading the reviews i got very stoked on the Rossi One Magtek. Now i can get a pretty decent deal on this deck, but the shop is too far away so i have to order online.

I’m not sure whether i’ll need the 159 (which has a 25,5 cm waist) or the 161wm (which has a 26,4 cm waist). I’m a size 29,5 cm (11,5 us in most brands) and i’m 191 cm tall. I also looked at the 163 (which has a 26 cm waist), but i’m afraid i’ll find this board too long.

Hope you guys can help me decide!

Hi qwerty,

Depending on where your buying, you might have a little trouble getting your hands on a 161 mW now, well at least I did (live in uk ordered from bluetomato). Im 183 on the dot, 76 - 80 kg and ride with 11.5 uk boots; i went with the 161 mW. I’m off to the snowdome next so will let you know how I get on.

what are you wanting to do with this board, i.e. piste bashing only or a mix or mostly park?

Hi jared,

I’m pretty sure i can get my hands on a 161mw, at least the guy at the shop (in Holland) told me so.
Anyway, i really want to do it all with this board, piste, pow and park (in that order).

I’m very interested in your views after riding the one, have a great time!

The waist size is a bit overstated because it measures the magnetraction middle bump on each side of the board as part of the width.

I measure the waist width of my 159 One Magtek as exactly 10 inches or 25.4 mm.  Taking off a mm or two for each magnetraction bump reduces the waist slightly.

I realize that we aren’t talking about a lot of mm but I wanted to mention it because it might make a difference in your case.

P.S. Thanks guys for the One Magtek recommendation.  I’m trying my new 159 out tomorrow for the first time.

Man, living so close to the States means I’m used to feet even though we are on a metric system in Canada. :/

11.5 the mW should be your target board, pretty much over 11 you are looking at a wide deck.

I finally got to ride the One Magtek yesterday…  all I can say is you will need to get a bit used to the magnetraction, that board has MASSIVE bite!  I was on steep decline and it was all ice over the edge at the end of the day, I was riding the 156 which was too short for me but damn, I felt like I could stand on the pitch right in an ice patch all day with the magnetraction!  It will toss you around a bit as it can hook up but once you are experienced it will unlock a whole new experience on hard pack.

That’s good to know, Steve, about the grip.

I’m about to take a run up to my local (PNW) resort and it’s probably going to be icy this morning before the corn snow in today’s predicted warm afternoon.

Maybe you saved me from a body slam on my first run!

Steve,

Thanks, I had a great time.  It was quite warm.  Love that corn snow, but this is January!  Hopefully it will cool down up there and snow again soon.

The camber-rocker magne-fied board provided an interesting experience.  It took me a while to take my rapt attention off my front edges, realize turns were just going to happen, and concentrate more on the zone under and between my feet.

The board excelled off-piste in bumpy crusty partially melted, partially icy conditions.  I went looking for a patch of sheer ice but the board didn’t seem to handle it any better than my cambered board.

The board is definitely playful as mentioned here, which is an important attribute for my snowboarding.

The board is pretty light at 6 lbs, 6 oz (2.9 kgs) for the 159.

I think it will be a good all-around board for me.
