Hey.

First post !

Been riding 6 years.

I currently ride a Bataleon goliath 161 (clockwork orange graphic)

Height:        5.11
Weight         13 stone
Boot:        UK 8.5

I want to down size to a 157, i was going to get a 2011 Goliath but t i really do not like the graphic.

I know i should not be choosing a board by its graphic, but the fact is if we are all honest it does have a margin of choice when looking at new boards.

I have ridden Bataleon and love it so am set on staying with it.

My question is to any one that has an evil twin ?

I am an all mountain rider , get away maximum 2 weeks a year now days,so after that will be in the chill factor, i am wanting to try a bit more freestyle as going up and down the domes is frankly a bit boring if your not trying new things ,switch , tricks etc.

Has any one ridden the evil twin all mountain ,In pow,at speed etc ?

I know the goliath is really the board i should be buying for all mountain , but 2 weeks away then mainly in the dome i am leaning towards the evil twin.

i am of abroad for 2 weeks in Feb and I would be totally gutted if i bought the evil twin and it was a nightmare all mountain.

Thanks in advance for any advice and help..

What you need is a bigger board bag.. then you can take your Goliath and your new Evil Twin. I’ve always taken two boards on holiday you just have to make sure the heaviest items are in your hand lugage and go with a airline like BA or Lufthansa.

To the Evil Twin. I’m 5’9” and 11.5 stone (this varies!), I rode the ET 155 all over the hill. It was super fun jibbing around on the pistes, I could rail it in turns and it was a complete washout in the powder either. I definitely wouldn’t want to take it out on a big powder day, but for everything else, I loved it, just an all over fun board. I think the 157 would be agood fit.

Yeah riding domes with jumps and rails is tedious enough, but without… you have to be committed. I couldn’t take any more £40 evenings up at Hemel so I moved to Austria ;)

You say “and it was a complete washout in the powder”

did you mean that ? or it was NOT ?

Thanks for your advise so far/

I am of to Chamonix in 2 weeks and ill be buying the board for riding all mountain there, i have not done Chamonix before so not really sure on the conditions.
I really don’t want to be a 2 board rider, so its a tough decision and expensive to get wrong, if i get the evil twin and it’s a nightmare, ill be gutted.

Sorry I mean’t it wasn’t a complete washout in powder.

The 157 evil twin will be fun for playing around on the groomers, hitting the parks at Grands Montets and Les houches and for the odd bit of powder. Being a twin shape it’s not ideal for powder missions but it won’t be drastically bad either.
