Hey guys,
looking for some advice,
Ive been looking to pick up a good all mountain board and I was just hoping to get a couple good recommendations. I enjoy riding groomers, powder, off-piste, and some park riding (mainly jumps not jibs). I’m 5’11” 150 lbs with a size 11 boot. I was hoping to pick something up for about $400, any recommendations?
Thanks.

ive been looking around and have heard the nitro blacklight is a good board but ive had trouble finding a used 2010 or 2009 model to fit my budget. Any advice?

Where are you based. If it’s the States, I’ve just found a 2010 Blacklight for $359 at Evo.

Oh by the way, the Blacklight sounds like a good choice of board.

$269?!
At price they are pretty much paying you to take the board! That is a certified bargain!

Thanks for the advice the board rides even better than I expected! I’m now looking to pick up some bindings and I was wondering what you think. I’ve looked around and the step in bindings like the k2 cinch look like they could be useful but Im not 100 percent sure I would like them, the technology seems like it could still be improved. If I’m going to get a traditional strap in I think I’m going to get the union force bindings. What do you think? Have you tested any of these step in style bindings?

I was also wondering what the wax infused core exactly means for my waxing routine? I saw someone say that you never had to wax but I don’t really believe that

With regard to waxing, I’d just stick to waxing it when you see the base greying slightly at the edges, or when you feel it’s running a little slow.
I have tried the Cinch binding, I wasn’t a huge fan as it was a friends board and I didn’t have a chance to adjust the bindings so they were perfect for me so they felt a bit awkward. But in general I think the rear entry bindings with adjustable straps are the best compromise. I was riding with a really good rider a couple of days ago who was riding SP fastec bindings, the fit looked great and he was in them faster than… my imagination has dried up… he was in them fast. Also check out the Apo Team bindings link here .
Other than that, Yeah Union have a good reputation. I’ve really only ridden Drake bindings for the last couple of years. I’m riding Drake Supersports at the moment and they are the most comfortable and supportive binding I have ever owned, I can’t recommend them enough.
