Hi Guys,
I’m looking for a bit of help. What equipment is needed to fully tune a board? I mean:
Wax
Repair damaged parts to the board
Sharpen edges
Clean thoroughly
Anyone know who provides these kits?
Thanks

There are a number of “complete tuning kit” packages on the market. Dakine do one for around £95 and Demon for about £60. These include a waxing iron, an edge sharpening file (with guide/jig), ptex sticks, a wire brush, a metal scraper and a plastic wax scraper as well as a deburing stone amd block of all temperature wax. To add to this I would add a small-ish G-clamp and some edge clamps and a strong epoxy like Araldite, you’ll find you need thses for edge repairs and delams. A sharp Stanley knike is also a good idea and a several grades of sand paper, for taking back glue or preparing gouges before you fill them with PTex. I also Like to structure my board’s base after a good wax so I have a Toko combi structuring brush (half wire half nylon). Don’t worry about cleaning your base with a detergent unless you have been riding it in mud.

Hi Rich,
Thanks for the recommendations, I am going to kit myself up… I’m no expert on servicing a board but want to learn as i seem to burn a fair amount of cash getting mine looked after.
Thanks…
