Hi! I’m a 16 year old guy and I live in Helsinki, Finland. I’ve been thinking of buying a new board, but i’m not sure which one. The forum youngblood seems like an fine piece of wood, but because this is just my third season, I don’t know what to do. I’m about 187 cm(6.1 ft.) and 75kg (165 pounds). Also my foot is EU size 46 (US 12 i think?) i’m quite new to park, but i’d love to learn more and this year i’m concentrating on park and jumping and jibbing in general. Also i’m going to lapland in a weeks time, so lots of powder there.
Soo i’m searching for a good all-around board that costs around 400 dollars
I would be wery grateful for help so thanks already :)

Also i heard that the destroyer is a good board. Any thoughts?

Hi there Walzuboy,
the Youngblood surely is one right choice for someone who wants to progress in the park. Another option would be the Scallywag which unfortunately is not available in the wide version you definitely need!
The Destroyer is somewhat the speced up Youngblood; light triax glass, stronger flex and some other tech like the Booter Booster,..
Probably better suited for the already intermediate to advanced park rider.
Now the thing is that you also want to ride pow with your parkboard and I honestly got to say, the Youngblood probably sucks in pow. That’s why you might want to look into a ride like the NS Revolver (wide version of the Evo) which has won our king of job contest and is a very very versatile board. Capable of rocking the park but also able to carve pistes and slive through pow. But then again, that will clearly exceed your 400$ limit..
Definitely let me know what you think, cheers Tobi

Thank you for your help tobi!!
I think i’ll go with the youngblood :) any thoughts for the size? Will a 157 wide serve me any good?
And also could you tell me what’s the difference between the normal version and the chillydog version?

About the chillydog:
Quote from the forum website
ChillyDog with Pop
Playful, Precise and Poppy. Featuring all the stability, predictability, and forgiving feel of Continuous Rocker, but with special focused Pop zones just outside of your stance. The core profile is matched with poppy sections in the nose and tail, softer between the feet. Load up the increased surface area in the nose or tail for ridiculous ollie power when you need a little extra to get you up and over.

And last but not least forum’s chillidog vid: http://www.forumsnowboards.com/honeypot/chillydog
Basically that means that the chillydog version will be more playful in the park compared to the regular cambered version but will most likely carve a bit worse and, even though it’s the ‘pop’ version, have slightly less pop than the camber.

157w sounds like a good choice!

Okay thanks for the information :) but which version would suite me better, or is it just a matter of opinion? Also youngblood vs T1?

According to the information in my previous post, with the ChillyDog version you will probably have more fun in the park as the rocker makes the board just more playful.
The Nitro T1 definitely has more tech on board; it’s a more advanced freestyle ride compared to the Youngblood which should be reflected by the different price tags.
Also a great ride for the park, definitely.
Depends on your cash situation and the designs of the boards now!
