I would say Johan Olofsson. Taking freestyle in to 45+ AK descents will keep him in the hall of fame forever.
I think Jake Blauvelt will take the crown in i few years!
Xavier De La Rue is another option. And of course Jeremy Jones. But at the end of the day Johan´s part in TB 5 put´s him in a position that can´t be beaten.

Jones and Xavier for just pure big mountain insane lines. Travis, Terje, Nicolas for big mountain freestyle.

I don’t know it’s difficult to compare the conventional big mountain riders like Xavier and Jeremy with the current big mountain freestylers like Jake and Mark Landvick… they’re all my heroes.
Have you seen Terje’s lastest section for Burton. I love it! Definitely my idea of snowboarding!
Some of the comments are hilarious, proper kiddies who don’t understand where snowboarding has come from. One of them is complaining about using fish boards, how it’s preventing snowboarding from progressing. SNOWBOARDING IS ABOUT HAVING FUN. FISH BOARDS IN POWDER ARE AMAZING FUN!!!

Yes. It´s hard to tell.
I say Johan because he carge like Xavier and Jones. And added tricks to his big mountain riding just like the new riders like Blauvelt does. Blauvelts AK Backside 360 photosequence in the latest Onboard issue is just a Johan flashback. Big and mindblowing. Terje is of course another living legend.
Your idea of snowboarding seems just to hit my personal preferences pretty well. Then again I just loved to see Jeremy and Xavier among other riders in Deeper.
Really. Backcountry is my biggest preference. Then again. That´s not were I will get my main riding days this seasson.
Soo. Yes. Snowboarding is al about fun. And it will be a fun season. It has started great. The plans is allready start to come to reallity.
One helitrip.
One hike for really big descents (heli restricted area). Probably in Sweden but very close to the Norway coastline.
Swedish boarder X championships
Scandinavian Freeride Championships
and if I am lucky also a week in the alps. And everyday riding in the park…and….some pow in the trees. And…yes…
I hope you get a lot of powdays in central Europe to. You usally seems to get that.
