I am considering these two boards. I am a mostly a freerider and do some small features in the park (small rails, boxes, and jumps). I carve hard and like to go fast, also Looking to learn how to ride switch and do small little 180s and buttering. I am 5’11” weigh 165lbs and i wear a US size 11. What are the primary differences between these boards? Also which one would fit my needs more? Any other board advice is also welcomed!! : )

Thank you.

The primary difference between them are the Magnetraction edges which the One has and the Angus doesn’t. Apart from that the construction and materials are almost identical and the shape and profile are almost exactly the same too. If you are more into carving then you might find the mag edges give you some extra grip in icy conditions, but I’ve not had an issue to date.

Tom has ridden both so hopefully he’ll spot this thread and can enlighten you to the difference in the boards. My opinion is that apart from the extra grip of mag edges, there isn’t a huge difference.

Hey Dave,

Sounds as though you’d be more suited to the 2011 One Magtek; it’s more of an all-mountain deck. I love the Angus but it’s slightly more park focused than the One Magtek….....the perfect board for big kickers. Go for the 2011 model because it is a lot more fun and jibbier than the 2009/2010 model.

Hi..i’m looking at these boards too and i noticed some difference in the nose/tail height. It’s like 2cm or so, what’s the real difference?
I’m also considering the taipan since i’m intermediate rider so i guess i don’t need the Carbon/Kevlar yet..and it cost much less.
