I really cant decide on which board to choose.
I am 5 10
180 lbs
been riding for 10 years
Im looking for a qaulity board and dont mind spending good money for it.
The boards in considering are
nidecker megalight ulimate grip
nidecker megalight camrock ultimate grip
Rossi experience
never summer raptor
never summer premiere
If I were to prioritize what I like it would be 4/10 powder 6/10 carving groomers
I see more groomers then powder but I really want a board that floats in the pow because I hate having a sore foot at the end of the day.

Wow… nice list of potentials! All of those boards are amazing.
On the groomers I think you’ll get the most rewarding carving experience from the Raptor or from the standard Megalight. Both have camber at the tips of sorts and so they pop you hard out of carves. The Raptor is absolutely incredible carving on groomers. Fast, stable and unbelievably lively.
On the other hand you have the Camrock Megalight and the Rossi Experience which both use rockered tips and camber between the feet. Unfortunately I have ridden neither but I was riding a Rossi Angus 157 in 2ft of powder yesterday and the float I was getting for a 157 was out of this world. I was riding in snowy conditions so I couldn’t see a lot of the winblown lips and undulations in front of me, but the Angus popped me over bumps and planted me down nicely, it gives you such a lively, responsive float that you just want to turn every second. Only on the flat run-out on the end did I really feel like I needed a longetr board for more float. The only thing I can criticise about the Angus in powder was that when I needed to scrub off some speed in really tight bumps the tail was a little soft to really anchor in but on the Experience or Megalight it’n not going to be a porblem because they have much stiffer tails. On groomers the Angus holds really nice carves so add a stiffer flex, shallower sidecut, mag edges and a more directional shape and the Experience is going to nail carves.
So for feeling in Carves on groomers I’d say the Raptor, it’s just so punchy. For riding pow the Experience is going to take your breath away as will the Megalight, and carving on hardpack and ice is no problem on these boards either, Camrock / Amptek boards carve really well, it’s just a different feel; stable and steady but not as lively. One more factor that might sway you. I’ve had 4 Rossi boards and they are indestructible, the bases are as hard as iron and I’ve hit rocks with my Jdub and the rock has come off worse.
Tom is riding an Experience as his Powder board this season. Here are his thoughts of the boards -

I decided on the 164cm Raptop. I am hoping the 164 cm will give me great float and stability in turns. The only concern is the tight tree chutes.
For 5’10 and 180 lbs do you think I went a bit over the top with the 164cm?

No way… 164 is spot on for stability when you are carving. I ride a 164 for powder but I think next year I’m going to add a board in the region of 172 to my quiver just for those days when the snow has been groomed and you want to ride at a million mph.
I think you’ll find the softer rockered waist means that initiating turns in tighter trees is relatively easy, and on bigger open bowls, you’ll love the extra float.
