Hi eveyone,
Just joined this site and wanted some help buying a board. I’ve been looking for the past month now and still can’t pull the trigger to buy one yet. My price range is from $300-$500. I am an intermediate rider and currently have been riding for about 6 years. I own a Ride System 2003/2004, which is still in very good shape and carves nicely, what I don’t like about it is it rides terribly switch and isn’t very forgiving when it comes to spins or even just playing around buttering, probably due to it being a camber board. While I am not very good with spins or buttering or even riding switch for that matter, I am looking for a board to help me with some of that while still providing a very stable and good carving board. I am located in NW Pennsylvania so often times the snow is a little harder packed towards the back end of the season, and often times there is little to no powder. My time riding is often split down the middle 50/50 in the park and the rest of the mountain. I am interested in a twin tip board, unless there are some directional boards that are good at riding switch as well, because I am interested in getting better at riding switch, playing around with small 180s and buttering. I want something that is playful but still not abandon carving and getting speed entirely. I am more of a casual rider, hit some smaller boxes here and there, some small rails, and smaller jumps and just enjoy a lot of cruising as well. I am not the type looking to do that 720 off a huge jump. Since I have had such good luck with Ride I was looking at them but I am also open to trying a new brand. So far I have been looking at the Ride Machete, Ride Manic, Ride Antic, GNU Carbon Credit, K2 Turbo Dream, K2 Slayblade, and K2 Darkstar. Any of these work for my riding style? Or any other boards you suggest that would work well? Undecided snowboarder in need of desperate help! Thank you!

I think an All Mountain Freestyle Directional Twin Board would be the way to go for you, since you dont drop any words on your size and weight it’s hart to recommend you a concrete board:
Here a proposal:

the rossignol angus and many others come to my mind too(eg. Nitro Team Gullwing).

Yeah the Nitro Team Gullwing is a good shout for sure.
If you are riding East Coast I reckon something with Magnetraction edges or something similar is going to be essential if you want to go in the rocker direction.
Check out these boards:
Arbor Coda - An all mountain freetyle ride for riding jumps and groomers. Parabolic rocker for easy turn initiation and playfullness, grip tech edges so you don’t wash-out on the hard stuff and a bamboo core for uber pop.
Smokin MIP - If you can live with graphics, I’m a fan of the Smokin MIP. Nice and damp, easy to ride and suprisinglyu hand in the park, particularly on rails. Zero camber for ease on rails and Magnetraction edges for grip.
Like smokin but want something more all mountain and with rocker, try the Smokin Superpark which uses Clash rocker… pretty similar to Never Summer’s RC technology.
GNU Riders Choice - All mountain performance in a freestyle package. Saw a chap riding some nice powder lines yesterday on one of these and he wasn’t having any problem with float. Not as fast as me though :).
I also find using camber between the feet and rocker at the tips focuses grip at the feet providing grip and forgiveness. Check out the Rossi Angus, Yes Typo and Atomic Axum if you have time.
