heres the dilemma… been looking for a new board for the past month and have just been going back and forth between different boards, brands, and styles… im 5’9” 155lbs. i want an all mountain board so i can be all over the place..  my price range is $400-500 but would like to stay closer to the 4.  i was lookin at the new dc tones. i read reviews and everyone is back and forth. i know its meant for more parkish style but there were people sayin its a good all mountain board… i dont know.. just need some help on that board or any other suggestions will be great… thanks

k2 raygun
GNU riders choice

What do you mainly want to do?  The mountain is a big place… :)

What do you currently have?  Anything you are looking for in particular?

Getting more specific will help you get closer to what you want…  that might help.

ok.. i narrowed it down after i went to my local shop…
i am really thinking about the machete… the guy at the shop said he demoed one and its awesome….
right now i ride an oooooooold custom that i got when i was like 18 off of a friend. its a 155…
i want to get more into park but i dont want to lose the aspect of being able to bomb hills etc but i dont want to have a super stiff board either thats hard to butter etc.
i never road a reverse cambered board before so if i go for a 155 machete is it going to feel softer than my board now?
or should i bump down to the 152?...
i think that narrowed it down a bit.. hopefully…
thanks

You’re too heavy for the 152…  not by much but it means it won’t respond the way you want it too.

Going off Ride’s specs the 158 is the better size for you, however the 155 works too.  If I were you I would go for the 158, the Machete has tapered nose and tail to reduce swing weight so you should still be able to spin like a champ.  The added length will make it more stable off bigger kickers and give you more control down runs with speed.
