Hi,
I have just tried to order the Yes great dudes of history 154 from snowboard asylum. From speaking with the guy on the phone he said they have none left in stock and that six had been retunred faulty with lamination issues. He couldnt give me any more info. Has anyone had these issues or has anyone got info on these problems?
Obviously i am unsure whether to order this board, has anyone got a good alternative?

Hey Aprice,
that pretty much sucks to hear. I lived in the thought that YES boards were well made until now. Then again, maybe it’s just one charge that got produced with a faulty machine or something like that. I think you could try and drop the YES support an email about the issue. Maybe they do have an explanation for the faulty lamination.
Don’t forget to tell us as soon as you know something new!

As for alternatives: check out the NeverSummer Evo, very versatile deck, can handle everything from park to charging. It has also won our king of jib competition.

Oh TSA must be mad about that, they’ve invested a lot into YES.

From the rumours (please note rumours!) I’ve read on some forums, YES’s manufacturer Nidecker is having a few problems with it’s factory in Tunisia. When I went to test the YES Basic at the board test, I was told it had the core form the YES Dudes in it and was all wrong… I think there will probably be some heads on the chopping board over the next few months and then the factory will go back to producing some great boards. Fingers crossed they sort it out without too much damage to the brand because I like YES and have a lot of respect for Nidecker!

Hopefully this wont be a problem with the new Jones boards since they’re being made my Nidecker too:( I hope this gets worked out for you and hope that it was just a fluke.

All YES boards have problem with lamination or only Dudes? I ‘m interested in Dudes or Typo but afraid to buy it after this information?

In case that’s true and it’s a factory thing, probably their whole range is affected.

I was looking at the Typo to replace my Novus.  They are a new brand and I really like Romain, DCP and JP…  I’m sure they are working hard to fix it.

If you check out EasyLoungin’s forum there is a post on there about 36 pages long about YES. boards. On about page 12 (I think) they start talking about warranty issues with the laminated 4 piece wood, rubber and ABS sidewalls. To be honest it sounds like a storm in a tea cup. A couple of boards needed warrantying… I think that is pretty standard. I think they have also had a few problesm with the laquer finish peeling on the earlier boards, but I believe that too has been resolved. Last year they put the brand out there with a very small time window to work too, I think they had a few issues because they needed top get the boards on the market before THe Uninc boy’s spotlight faded but it sounds like they are working hard to get the product back on track and the guys working with the warranties are definitely putting the hours in helping people out on the forums.
