Hey,

I’m looking to buy my first board, I’d say I’m beginner to intermediate but wanting to progress fast! (I visit the dry slope 2-3 times a week and plan on going abroad in Jan and April). I mainly ride the piste and love just carving down the slopes but this season I also want to try the park and venture off piste from time to time.

Also what are your thoughts on rockers and rocker/camber hybrids, would these be suitable? (The Palmer Halo 2011 really strikes my attention but it may be too advanced for what I need?)

My Stats: 5’4”, 158lbs, boot size UK6, female rider.

Thanks

Hi Pyro, welcome to the SBR forums!

I don’t see a reason why the Halo should be too advanced, suited for beginner to intermediate riders, that’s exactly what you are, isn’t it?
You might also have a look at the NeverSummer Infinity, looks dope and seems to be a fitting ride, as well. Maybe a bit more allmountain-ish compared to the Halo..

Cheers, Tobi

Thanks Tobi!

I was also looking at The Rome Blue 2011 board. Am I still going to be able to carve well with these new rocker boards?

Cheers.

Rockering a board, especially hybrid-rockering it, does definitely not mean making it unable to carve!
The deck technically will miss some pop out of the carves and you will probably never get the same edge hold as with regular camber but you probably won’t even notice a difference between a cambered and a hybrid-rockered allmountain ride with around the same stiffness, so thats not really a thing to worry about.

Cheers, Tobi
