Hey everybody,
I need a allterrain board with more focus on freeriding, but I want to use it in the park as well.I am thinking of buying the 2010 LibTech T. Rice C2 BTX. I already found out that they have to forms. The more park-suited “Blunt” with the sizes 153 and 157 and the more freeride version “Pointy” with the sizes 161.5 and 164.5. I tend to take the freeride version, but I am only 5.8 tall and I weigh 73 kg. So the 161.5 version might be too big for me? What would be the best size for me and is the T.Rice C2 BTX a good choice for me?
Some additional facts: Intermediate to advanced boarder
Boot size 10
Freeride [45%]
Park [30%]
Slopes [25%]

Hi Hannster,
From what you have written the 157 T Rice sounds perfect for you. Trust me you’ll be able to take it in the powder, the board floats like a dream boat! It will also work in the halfpipe and off jumps.

Thank you for your fast reply!
What are the differences between the 2010 and the 2011 version? Have you any good advice, where I could purchase the 2010 board? It seems to be pretty sold out, or the price is nearly the same as it is for the 2011.I found a good offer for 2010 at the 02gearshop but they unfortunately don’t ship to Canada, where I currently live.
The TRS BTX might be a bit cheaper but it isn’t that stable, when you ride really fast. Is that correct?

As far as I’m aware the 2010/11 model is pretty similar if not identical to last year’s snowboard. Unfortunately for consumers looking for a bargain, Lib Tech aka Mervin make just the right number of snowboards each year, in other words, they sell through. Unfrotunate because you won’t be able to pick one up for peanuts, but good because it means you can buy it at the start of season and then not see it in a sale in March. The addition this year is the Travis Rice Hourse Power, this is a damper and firmer flexing model which uses basalt laminates, there’s no need to go for this version unless you are after a monster!
With regards to the TRS and standard BTX. I like it for playing in the park, but if you want that camber snap out of turns, you know ehn you rail out a turn with your weight aft of the binding and the board then pops you into your next turn… you need C2 BTX for this. I’d definitely advise you go for Travis Rice if you want to hard charge and slash rooster tails!

Thanks again for your help. I really appreciate! Do you think the Burton Cartel or Restricted Cartel binding would work out for me?
