Both have similar shape, Rocker&Camber; vs Clash Rocker… NS has Vario Power Grip sidecut while Smokin has Mervin’s MagneTraction… Has anyone tried these sticks (I saw the Jib King review in which the EVO took the crown)?

I’m 6ft tall, 165lbs, 9.5US looking for a shorter (152-153cm) jib and park board that holds good in deep pow. Considering the EVO in wide, the Revolver 153 or the Smokin Superpark (152)...

Thanks,
Bob

Hey there Bob, welcome to the SBR forums!

I can’t help you much with the superpark as we do not have it on the website and so I do not any more about it than you do but I can assure you that the NS Evo won the Jib King Comp for a reason!
It’s a really versatile deck with insane park qualities without compromising the allmountain capability too much.
Of course there are far better decks for riding the pow but try doing a boardslide on these decks!
You surely won’t go far wrong with the Evo.

Cheers, Tobi

Hi Bob,

With your height and weight… and boot size I reckon the 155 NS Evo is probably going to be a better board for a park and jibbing than a 153 revolver. At 6ft I reckon 153 is too short.

Regarding the Smokin decks. I rode the MIP this year (review to drop some time in October) the construction was good and the board handled a lot better than the MIP I tried last year. I think the MIP is the more jib focused snowboard, with Magnetraction, zero camber and urethane blended sidewalls. It wasn’t particularly light, but felt solid on jumps and smooth on rails. If you can stomach the graphics the MIP is a great jib deck. As good as the EVO? I’m not sure, but good.

Thank you both for your input. Apparently, I misled you… My boot size is US10.5, and that’s why I was considering the Revolver (instead of the Evo) 153/56 to have better float in pow! Or do you think the EVO 155 (waist width 251) would still handle my boats?

Well with a size 10.5 US boot the Revolver 156 would be ideal. Talking from personal experience, I usually go for a 157-158 for all mountain, kicker and park riding, and if I had a bit more coin, I’d probably buy a jib, rail and jump board around the 153-154 mark. For Powder I currently ride a 164 but I think at some point I might have to invest in a charger around the 170 mark. I’m 3 inches shorter than you and weight a little less which would put the 156 Revolver on the money for length and width.
